Energy is a necessary part of human existence. We need energy to live, to heat our homes, to run our cars, to power our stereos, and to continue to develop our entire human civilization on this planet. So finding ways to generate or produce energy from various sources has been high on the human agenda since man discovered fire.

The information and exercises below will help you understand where we get our energy, the sources, and how we generate energy from those sources.

** The Power Plant Game requires a PC running Windows 95/98/NT/XP and V3.0 or higher of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. A plug-in for your web browser called Vitalize is also required.
